Safety & Best Practice
Safety Guidelines
Always Wear PPE
Before operating any diamond blade or core bit, ensure you and your crew are wearing: safety glasses or face shield, hearing protection, work gloves, respiratory protection (dust mask or respirator), and steel-toed boots.
Inspect Before Use
Always inspect blades and core bits before mounting or use. Check for cracks, missing segments, warping, or damage. Never use a damaged blade or bit. If in doubt, take it out of service.
Mount & Operate Safely
Correctly mount and tighten to proper torque spec. Confirm the arbor size matches your equipment. Never exceed the maximum RPM rating. Allow the blade to reach full speed before engaging the material. Let the tool do the work — do not force or side-load the blade.
Respect RPM Limits
Every diamond blade has a maximum RPM rating. Operating above this rating is extremely dangerous. Always confirm your saw's RPM is within the blade's rated limit before use.
Best Practices
Use the Correct Bond for the Material
The #1 rule: hard bond for soft materials, soft bond for hard materials. Using the wrong bond causes premature wear, blade damage, or unsafe cutting. Contact our team for guidance.
Maintain & Store Properly
Clean blades and bits after each use. Store in a dry area away from moisture and impact. Store blades vertically or hung, not stacked flat. Dress blades regularly to maintain performance.
Apply Steady Pressure & Cool the Blade
Apply consistent, steady pressure when cutting. Avoid twisting, side pressure, or abrupt stops. Allow the blade to cool between cuts in dry applications. For wet-cut blades, ensure adequate water flow at all times.
Pro Tips
- Dress your blade on a soft material if it becomes glazed
- For green concrete, use the correct Soff-Cut blade for your aggregate hardness
- For core drilling, use consistent downward pressure and avoid lateral movement
- Start cuts slowly and bring up to full speed before making depth passes
